1964-1966 Door panel question

I have seen a few pictures of the door panels on the 64-66 trucks where the outer is painted Fawn Poly and the inner portion is painted white. Is this something that is part of the Custom Cab option?

I have also seen steering wheels painted white on trucks with fawn-painted insides. Is this stock? Maybe a Custom Cab feature as well?

The reason why I'm saying it is that my buddy has a '66 C-20 Camper Special with the Custom Cab option, and his door panels are all fawn, the steering wheel is fawn. Of course, his '66 has the dark fawn upper dash ('66 only).

Thanks, lakeroadster!

That thread answered my question exactly. It also gave me a few pictures to use as a reference. It's nice to know all of those subtle changes from year to year.

Re: 1964-1966 Door panel question

Yep, the knowledge base on this site is phenomenal.

I will be painting my 1965 door interiors soon and I am wondering though about the wisdom of painting the area where the door handle and window crank are in white. Seems like that would show dirt and wear pretty bad.

Seems like the 1963 / 1964 stripe makes the most sense, from purely a form and function basis.

You are correct John, the paint on both my trucks ( first one in `75 ) were worn heavilly, I have covered this truck`s panels with Herculan material, it show`s the wear as well, now I`m looking for something else, not sure what maybe build my own full fiberglass panels with map pockets and all for the doors or have them powered coated.
