Oil leak from dipstick?

I've got an oil leak in my 305 that I think is coming from the bottom of the dipstick. It sits loose in there and can pull right out. The oil is dripping off the tranny and it's not tranny oil. The engine oil pan is clean, doesn't seem like it could be anywhere else. How do I tighten the dipstick up? Solder maybe? Were there any gaskets or seals on it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Oil leak from dipstick?

I'd take some vice grips and squeeze the dipstick tube a little where it goes into the block. Just a little to get it to fit tight. A little oil resistant RTV and you're golden.
