Maybe doing brakes and rotors soon.

What brand and from were is a good rotor and pad option?

4x4 daily driver light offroad use.

i can tell you with confidence to stay away fromt he pep boys brand rotor and drums every time ive bought one theyve warped in an insanely quick amount of time Ive had good luck with wagner brake parts in the past tho

I bought cross-drilled and slotted rotors and titanium ti pads from JC. Whitney that I am very impressed with. The napa made in usa upscale rotors are pretty good as well. Performance Friction carbon metallic pads work very well, but they dust like you would not believe.......I had to clean my wheels every 3 days with those pads.

I just bought front and rear setups from O'Rielly Auto Parts and was given 2 options. Cheap or better. The cheap came from Mexico and the the Others wer made in Canada. After comparing the two in the store. I went with the Canandian made parts. They were much thicker, nicely finished castings that looked VERY close to the OEM pieces I removed. The calipers were preloaded with metallic pads, the rotors came with studs and races installed. The rear drums were beefy and included the knockout rubber plugs. I was pretty pleased with the overall quality.
Total cost for calipers, rotors, drums, shoes, a wheel cylinder, drivers ebrake cable, 2 cans brake cleaner, and a quart of fluid = $354

I second the Pep Boys warning on their $40 rotors..........they warp in no time. So do GM's from my experience.
Performance Friction carbon metallic pads last a VERY long time but they do dust alot and are hard on rotors.

I just bought all my brake parts from Discount. They are made by Wearever. Seem to be really good quality.

I have heard good about Raybestos, but our 99 Tahoe warped their rotors in less than a week. Of course, we think it is warping the slotted/crossdrilled rotors we have on it now (how I don't know!)
