Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?
I am 22 and have had the bug for a long time. Before I was even in Kindergarden I had cabbaged on to a '46 ton and 1/2 truck that was in our back yard until my dad scrapped it. And because I got mad at him he pulled his old '69 Nova Drag Car out of the junkyard it resided in and gave it to me. It was like a playhouse for me when I was a kid and I still have it and it will be restored someday. My first real running car was my '78 Malibu I bought when I was fourteen and still have, now restored and given the proper hot rod treatment and featured in a few magazines. I drove a '84 2wd lwb Silverado when I was in high school and sold it when my dad starting talking about selling his '72 4x4 that I grew up riding in. I sold my '84 and bought the '72 and drove it for a while. Then I bought my namesake car 85 Monte SS and use it as a daily when it is not nasty out. Most recently I started building a drag car out of a Second '78 Malibu that I bought that will get the .30 over 454/ and 400 turbo that I built. I have my own house with attached two car garage that houses my two "done" cars (original malibu and monte ss) and parts, Rent a shop with a buddy that I am building my drag car in, and still have stuff in my dad's shop as well. When I get my drag car going I am going to start a restoration on my '72 4x4. Owned many more cars in there as well, but I just listed the classics and the keepers.

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?
I just turned 23! I've had my '70 cst/10 LWB since I was 17, it was my first car/truck. I never plan on getting rid of it either. I grew up around these trucks and have always had something for them. I've had alot of fun/memories in this truck and plan on doing the same for the years to come! Here he is...

23 here, purchased my beast 8 months ago. i've always appreciated older GM vehicles. I've been picking away at her now but soon as I get a garage i'm planning a restoration. The new generation of kids are a bunch of jerks, and have no appreciation for classics. |

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?
I just turned 28 and finally got the truck I have wanted since high school. I just finished the 4/6 drop kit from ECE this winter, along with front disc brakes. I wanted to stay old school with a modern touch so I went with torq thrust wheels in 20". I am just getting started on this bad boy. I plan on spending a lot of time and money in the years to come.

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?
wow. nice work my friend. That stance is perfect. I just noticed the 2 tone. I like the subtlety of it? pretty sure thats a word, but you know what I mean. real clean. Are those flames on the doors too?

I am 25 now but I have owned my truck at the begining of freshman year in high school and have been slowly working on her. She has been my daily driver this entire time.

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?
I'll be 27 in July. My '72 has been my daily driver for about a year and a half now. Hate to say it, but I'm starting to feel like I'm on the top end of the "Young Bucks" category. Where do I go from here?

Keller, You just keep on truckin', learn from the past, enjoy the experiences you've had and pass it on to the next generation!
