Project:CRUZNBY
Hello everyone new to site and heres my project: 1969 chevy c-10 swb.
I picked this truck up no motor,no trans which is fine by me,since she is either getting a 383 stroker T.P.I, or a 496. 80% of the sheet metal is new, so there is not much rust to deal with, which is also good since I found it in michigan.I plan to cone race (scca) with it, so it is also getting a much lower stance, bigger wheels and tires, and some minor interior upgrades. got a few other mods in mind but I don't want to give out all the plans just yet any comments or questions feel free to post them Thanks for looking |

Re: Project:CRUZNBY
Nice start, good luck with the build. We'll have to get together to cruise some time this summer. Not many close Michigan folks that I've found let alone 10 minutes or so. Are you close to "town" in Alto? Used to live in Grattan and drove Alden Nash towards Middleville every day for work.

Re: Project:CRUZNBY
Of all the places to meet a neighbor, it's a small world. Well when the truck's on the road I know there's the little weekly show/gathering up on 28th at Culver's and I plan on bringing the truck with the family every once in a while.

Well I got the drivetrain figured out, picking up the 8.1 next week sometime and then starts the fun of making it fit.

Nice project you got there ! I spy some widened wheelwells in the photos, do you plan on taking advantage of them ?

Re: Project:CRUZNBY
yes I do plan to use the wheel wells to my advantage, I am hoping to run the same size tire as a dodge viper in the rear I belive they are 335/35/r19, need a wide tire to get the power to the pavement LOL
Getting the truck up on stands this weekend and starting some body work, shaving everything, and installing a rustic hickory wood bed thanks for looking

Re: Project:CRUZNBY
well finally got some minor work done on the truck, got the bed removed to gain access to frame rails for fuel system and maybe start the wood bed (if i still go that route) got the old fuel tank out, removed old floor shifter,(building custom center console) got c-notch ordered when that shows going to install and fix the frame where the guy before me sliced and diced to fit his big block(so far thats the only real bad damage i have found on the frame) I have all my pieces to shave everthing also, still debating door handles though. So progress has been slow but winter is coming and that is my slow time, so i will have time, will update some pics soon

Re: Project:CRUZNBY
Well I figured out my picture problem, and found another one, the guy I bought the truck from LOVED bondo, not any on the body panels but the firewall area has got its fair share and then some, was getting ready to fix and smooth some stuff when i noticed the heater box area caked with the goo, boo. I should have looked closer when i bought it but o'well I am still learning. I promise to have some pics of the motor and fire wall up in the next couple days after all its a three day work week.

Re: Project:CRUZNBY
well all my pics got wiped out on my puter again for some reason thats why they wont show up in previous posts, but I think I have it solved now. On that note here are some pics up to where I am at, got the front clip off cause I need to repair the firewall
floors are good though and I have to fix the frame where the previous owner hacked it to fit headers
