57 Chevy just picked it up
Hey guys not new to the site but new to old trucks just picked up my new 1957 step side with a 327 and a munzy 4 speed it even has A/C just needs some work will post pics in a few

Parts list keeps growing and growing! Well motor is out and tore down and cleaned up now getting ready to go back together.

Hey guys well started to put motor back together and pulled some threads when torquing down the heads so pulled motor back out to get fixed and now found out the block is cracked man what luck,hope block can be sleeved or pick up a block!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sounds like a good time to put in a LS type motor. Better milage, more HP. You can get a low milage pull out with everything on it (tranny and all) for around 1500. 300 to get the harness cut and comp. reflashed. and your good to go. Just lettin you know that's what I would do, but it's your truck. We're here to help you which ever way you go.

Don't get discouraged with the occasional bad news. It happens. If it were easy, EVERYBODY would do it.
My parts list grows every single day too. Just keep at it. Have a good plan and don't let yourself get trapped into breaking the truck down too far. I've seen lots of guys tear a truck apart that only needed a few things and wind up with a garage full of parts (not that YOU would), it's happened to me! Can get demotivating. Good Luck. |

Thanks guys yeah I got a little bummed out but remembered what I payed for it so I'm still in good shape would love to do a motor swap but I just picked up everything for this motor so don't want to waist any cash and I know what you mean about breaking it down to far been there done that once before I just need to find a block or see if this one can be fixed it's only time!
