Best place to get your real vintage parts. DVAP

This is for any one who need real clasic parts. over spring break i went to scottsdale az. there is a new show on discovery called desert valley car kings and since i started watching it i wanted to go. so this was the perfect time. this was my first junk yard and proboly the greatest. there number is 1800 841-4168- you can also request a part online at dvap.com over 10 acres of creat cars from valients to the firebird every thing its a great place and you can get great deals as well, i got a chrome gmc logo there for 40 bucks and some v8 emblems of a 65 dart for 10 buck, great buy!!! they also recomended a pparts store called "grumpys" great and just like lmc but cheaper. :

I sent in a parts request to DVAP about a month ago. They sent a message back that they would look and get back to me in a day or two. Never heard from them again. I bet it's Jason's fault, Ron wouldn't do that to me.

Glad to hear you are spending spring break in a junkyard instead of getting inebriated at some beach. You have your priorities in order.

It's funny you mention them, as I've been having a hard time trying to find parts that are not reproduced. Being a big fan of the show, I figured I'd try to give them a call and see if I get lucky and they have what I'm looking for.

I thought about them but the show is obviously set up. I need this part oh here it is in the trunk. Way to coincidental for me to buy.

Yeah, I like the show. It's VERY staged (OMG build it in 3 weeks!? Never happen!...3 weeks later...OF COURSE THEY'RE DONE!) and very cheesy, but you can't trust these thumb bangers to sell you parts unless you're right there in the store walking the lot yourself.

The background is nice. It's the bad actors in the foreground that bother me.

I'm sure that's true, but that's just not going to happen for most of us due to cost.

Caught the episode with the GTO the other night. I know it's scripted but, the shop manager sounds like a whiner to me. Reminded me of Duane at Coddington's. Could be a great show, just a little over-scripted. Makes it cheesey....

Re: Best place to get your real vintage parts. DVAP

The owner at DVAP is the head of the Departmental of Disinformation. Did you see the episode about restoring the FORD pickup? Wrong info at every corner. Holy cow...who did this guy grease to get his own show?

The last episode really pushed the idea of selling parts to the public...it worked because people are talking about going.

Doesn't Discovery research the technical aspects of what these guys are doing? Or is the whole idea to get some controversy and discussion going, and get $$ flowing? I wish Discovery and History would stop the avalanche of semi-reality-low-budget shows and get back to their original charter (my pet peeve)!

But man, the yard looks really good!
