Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
Got a 75 C/10 with 350 in it. I thought about going with true duals and two mags. The guy at the muffler shop tried to recommend VX exhaust, but I've never heard of it. Flowmaster is just too common sound aroud these parts so I want something different, but with an aggressive sound. What do you guys think?

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I had magna flow on my '97 Ford F150. (sold) I liked it. It had sound when you got on it, but it was not too loud when cruising. I have flowmaster knock offs on my '87, that is becuase I wanted it loud and flowmasters on my '04 (came with the truck). Sometimes it is too loud for me as a daily driver. Many opinions will come out. Just figure out what you want to live with? Is it a daily driver? Do you want to be a sheep in wolf's clothing? and then go for it!

Magnaflow makes a complete stainless exhaust for these trucks, 2 1\2in. mandrel bent. Looks nice!

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
They are a great brand. I've heard several exhaust systems with their mufflers and they all sound great. It's more of an old school racey sound.

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I've been wondering the same thing for another car.
I have Flowmaster Super 40's behind a built 440 with 2" Super Comp headers, 3" exhaust with H pipe and it is way too loud for anything about 50mph. I also like the sound of Dynomax Super Turbo's. They sound almost like a factory big block HP muffler from the 60's. I have been wanting to try the Magnaflows though, if anything they look really nice.

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I run headers, Xpipe and dual Magnaflow 14" nufflers. It sounds great!! Nice rumble at idle to mid throttle. If you go over 2500 RPMs they really start to wake up!!
Exhaust at idle. http://www.youtube.com/user/Silverad.../5/70gVHNFFnxk Some nice RPMs http://www.youtube.com/user/Silverad.../6/OCAF-fYuO1g |

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I have Magnaflows on my stock 454 with 2.50" pipe out the rear. I really like the sound, just enough, not too loud, no cab noise.

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I'd take Magnaflow over FM anyday. If you want something really different, check out Aero Exhaust. Great sound, great design, and stainless inside and out. They are damn expensive though...

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I personally LOVE the sound Magnaflow makes! It's so much more mellow than Flowmaster or some of the others. Still gets it when you romp on it, but even then it's still a better tone!

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I have an 87 with a 305 that i recently installled hooker headers and true dual magnaflow mufflers on. The exhaust shop owner said that flowmaster is just a noise box unless you have a pretty strong motor. he said only then will you get the potential out of a flowmaster muffler. So i went w/ the magnaflow and I am extremly pleased with not only he sound but I can def. feel a small jolt of performanace after the exhaust/header work was done. I am happy with the magnaflow, not as loud as a flowmaster, but loud and throaty enough in my opinion.

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I love the way the Magnaflows sound. I just recently put their cat back system on my TBSS and it sounds great. When you are choosing mufflers the shorter they are the louder they are. I recommend the shorter model if you want big sound. Check out their website link to sound clips. http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound/04trucks.asp Or you can check some out on you tube. Good luck

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
If your looking for something different, check out Spintech. They sell every kind of muffler you can think of... They even offer just about everything in oval tube as well. Listen to some Youtube videos for the sound. If I didn't already have one Flowmaster 40 laying around my truck would be getting them.

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I also had the 14 inch magnaflows on a 2006 Chevrolet with the 4.8 engine.
Even with that engine the tone was still deep and throaty sounding. I liked that it was quiet enough to talk with passengers when driving but it would talk a little if I hammered it. I have to decide to put something different on my new project, it's got 3 inch exhaust and a 350 but for some reason they dualed it out and put a hush style mufflers on there. I like Magnaflow, but also remember hearing some dynoflow or something like that and they left an impresssion on me. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Your opinion on Magnaflow exhaust?
I have Magnaflow on my daily driver (small block truck). I have never been happier with a muffler than I am with these. I'll never spend another cent on Flowmasters.
