Exclamation frames

i have a 68 shortbed fleetside 1/2 ton, i believe the frame is tweaked...will a 1968 body bolt right up to a 1965 shortwheel frame? what mods would need to be done?

Re: frames

Are you sure it is tweaked? The front part of a bare frame (no frontend) looks bent on all the frames.

Re: frames

To bad you not closer ,we could put it on my frame machine and fixer up. Most any collision shop with frame repair capabilities could fix your troubles. Most will have a min. charge for set up [that takes the longest] Once tied down a pull should be really quick. No body shop[almost ] will let you hang out and watch a pull on their machines cause they don't want you to know how quick it goes. Jim

Re: frames

couple things....I know my frame was tweaked, but didn't get it taken care of till I had almost gotten done with the project...cost me $300...

I'm not sure things will bolt right up on the 60-66 frames, plus the mods may cost you more $$$....but if yours is really bad, and you don't want to spend the money to get it pulled out, check your local CL....you maybe able to find a good frame (maybe??) cheaper

Re: frames

It can be done, but will require installing mounts in differnent places and the frame horns on the front are different.

My son put a 63 body on a 69 frame and had to move cab mounts and cut the frame horn ends and switch them.

do u have to move mounts around farther from existing points, or are they pretty close? are the mounts also different as compared to the 68?
