G27 Cockpit for PS3

It's not an automobile, but it has a steering wheel, 3 pedals and a 6-speed shifter, so I figured I'd post up a little side project I'm working on.

It's for my PS3 to play racing games. I picked it and a couple compatible racing games up a couple months ago. The G27 steering wheel has a 6 speed H-pattern shifter and working clutch. I only tried it once, but having it mounted on my end table with no where to put the shifter really sucked and the pedals moved all around because of my wood flooring. So, I figured I'd make a little cockpit to mount everything to. I had a slab of mdf in garage already and bunch of screws, so all I needed to buy was a seat.

I got a seat from a friend for $20, it's a Honda Del Sol passenger seat and designed the cockpit around it. A couple of google searches pointed out that I could take apart the pedals and mount them to hang to make it more realistic.

I only have 1 pic of of it so far, and all it shows is the seat and steering wheel mounted. Since the pic, I got the pedals apart and mounted. All that's left is figuring out a mount for the shifter, a little paint and a couple casters to make it easy to roll around. It's skinny enough to roll into the spare bedroom so it's not huge eye sore stuck in the living room. I hope to have it done this weekend.

Here's the pic I have:

Re: G27 Cockpit for PS3

I've always wanted to drive a race car. My dad was a crew chief of a local circle track team, and it always looked like fun. This seems to be as close as I can get to the real thing! haha I'll try to take a decent video of it in action once it's done.
