700r trans help needed

Hey guys, just had my 700r trans rebuilt for my 1988 chevy 4x4 k1500. the problem is after we put it back in and filled it with fluid when you pull it in gear it takes it a few to grab. the fluid level is full on hot and there is no leaks anywhere. also when you try to drive it it doesn't respond it acts like its slipping really bad. we set the detent cable to the specs that was said to use.does this problem sound more like a valve body issue or a seal wasnt put back right in the inside? any help would be appreciated.

Re: 700r trans help needed

Take it back to the person that rebuilt it, and have him fix it.

Re: 700r trans help needed

ok a update on the problem with the tranny. hopefully this will help some one else that is having or might get the same problem. the guy that rebuilt the trans said that when he took apart the valve body one of the solenoids had a small metal tube in it that didn't belong. he said he now thinks that the extra part was in there to keep the valve open because there was no spring in it to keep it open. he seems to think someone else has been into the trans at one point and maybe broke the spring that was in it and replaced it with the small metal tube. anyways hes got the part coming and hopefully with the spring put in the place it will keep the valve from closing and the trans will work. will keep updating what we finally find out so if anyone else ever has the same issue they will know where and how to fix.
