be sure and look at Schneider Cams (was in with Crower back in the day), there in California. They have several to choose from, probably the best selection around for the 194-250 and the 292.
I have their dual grind in my 292, but it's not yet driveable, so I can't report much.

hey chevylokin, you have to get leo santucci's book, things will never be the same! the carbs on 292's are larger than 194-250's. i am swapping the 194 in my 64 mailbu ss to fuel injection and a 4l60e from a 93 c1500 i scrapped. so far i had the 4.3 distributor machined to fit and going to use an offy 4 bbl manifold for the tbi. good luck and glad to see more 6's not being swapped to 8's!

Hey Chevylookin, good job! I know you're happy rollin down the fast lane, just keep that radar detector on and it's more fun droppin down a gear when you have to, now, right?

Again I'll offer my 2¢ (which brings my total to 4¢ for this thread).

I gained some experience with multi-carb set-ups (see my avatar) recently and in the long-ago past when I drove sports cars. The 3 dueces on the '48 have the progressive linkage mentioned above, the sports car were sycncronized. both ways are problematic.

I only put the 3X2's on the '48 for nostalgia reasons, being as I am from the era when Hot Rods had multi-carbs.

Yes, they are theoretically more efficient, and can be made to work.
I spent a lot of time getting my set-ups (current and old) running properly.

Be honest with yourself about how much effort you want to invest for minimal gain WITH A MILD BUILD, compared to the relatively easy single larger carb. You might want to just upgrade to a 2 bbl, I mean, you really don't need a lot of carb on your motor, even with the cam/split manifold, etc.

Is it possible to have all the throttle response that you want and still have a budget?? I agree with you guys, Passing is definitely not an option.
This truck makes a 25 mile round trip to high school every day, as my daughter's daily driver.
Mostly it stays on 50 mph country roads with a stop sign every few miles. It gets up to speed quickly and smoothly.
But it has never seen a interstate freeway since I have owned it. The 75 mph speed limit would probably be a little scary anyway.

A 230 mild build still makes about 150hp. You'll never have 'mat and go' over 70. The turbo will get you close to a 350 but with a lot better gas mileage.

Still love my 6's, be different and economical too!
