Possible Trade For My 72
What do you guys think. I had someone reply on craigslist to trade his 71 4x4 for my 72 2wd. I need the 4wd for where I live, but have pumped quite a bit of cash into my truck already =/

Re: Possible Trade For My 72
It's funny that they have the same wheels, I like the 4X4's but they ride like a lumber wagon.

Re: Possible Trade For My 72
Depends on you're needs right now. Personally I love having a 4x4 around since I seem to actually need it more often than not.
Either one is a nice truck.

Re: Possible Trade For My 72
Best advice is to make a two column list with pro's and cons of both. Then make the same list with the valuable parts for both and current condition (rust/mechanicals)
If it's even or in your favor...then do it since you're looking for a 4x4 I'd also see what he wants cash and then figure what yours is worth currently and see if it makes sense to swap or to try to sell yours first to buy his...

Re: Possible Trade For My 72
I traded a 69 4x4 for a 72 2wd and it was a good decision in my book. It was like going from a log truck to a cadillac!

Re: Possible Trade For My 72
IMO a truck is worth what somebody is willing to pay for it, not how much money someone has put into it. If you like the 4x4 go for it.

What is wrong with having one of each?

I think I'd always vote for the 4 by but I don't know what you use if for and how much cash you've dropped in your ride. So I vote for the 4 by

Both are nice trucks so pick the one that fits your need the best.

Re: Possible Trade For My 72
I agree with the fact that buy what your heart is set on. If you always wanted a 4x4 then I would trade for it...otherwise I would stay with the 2wd. If it's a toss up beween the two than do what VA72C10 suggested. JMHO Good luck with your decision.
