Cool Ok to drive?

Is it ok/safe to drive a truck needing trans seals a 100 miles non-stop. Mechanic said it is fine as long as it has fluid, truck leaks fluid only when parked awhile. Thanks for your advice.

Re: Ok to drive?

I drove my th350 with a leak (enough to put a quart in every 4 days) all the time (say about 2000 miles) and all I ever did was top off the fluid when it started to slip. I have since replaced it with a 700r4, but the th350 never gave me any problems because of a leak.

Re: Ok to drive?

if youre that nervous stop and check the fluid before you start and about halfway but unless its peeing it out alot i wouldnt worry about it.. in fact i had to put four quarts into my truck just to get it down to NJ ( it leaked out sitting) and ill check it every few days

Re: Ok to drive?

Lucas is good stuff. I run some in my engine now for that very reason.
