Re: My '53 project - Dime time
GRIMSS. I work in a machine shop so the skies the limit. What RPM is your motor? Mine was 20 RPM and my dies are around 2.5". I have a 12 tooth sprocket on the motor and a 80 on the beadroller. I also remade the line reel to put the sprocket on and I still have the disconnect. It runs slow enough that you don't have to disconnect and do by hand to stop or come up on something. I just jog it.

No clue on the motor. HarborFreight says the motor is 1 1/8 hp - 3400 rpm. That's before the gearbox. Then it says 33ft. per minute. I'm going to try a sewing maching foot pedal to also control the speed.

Re: My '53 project - Dime time
Here's the rest of how I'm making it.
The shaft on the winch is just a little larger than 11/16, so I tuned it up so an inpact socket would go on it. This way I can take it all off if this project flops. ![]() then cut the socket. ![]() ![]() Got a hub that fits the socket and a pully to fit the hub. ![]()

Re: My '53 project - Dime time
The beadroller is a Woodward fab unit. I also found a hub to fit the shaft on the roller.
![]() Got about $36 in all the pulley parts. Here's how I'm planning on tighting the belt. Treadall attached to the winch to pull it down. ![]()
