Booster hitting shift linkage question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Im converting my 69 c10 to front disk using a 85 1/2ton as a doner. Im running into an issue mounting the booster, it is hitting the shift linkages for the 3 on the tree.

Just wondering what people are doing to correct this.

My truck is an automatic, but I had the same issue. The booster I used was out of an 89 'burb and I slotted the mount holes on the booster bracket to bring it up away from the linkage slightly.

I put a dent in the back of the booster using a hammer. It didn't seem to affect its operation.

ok, i kinda figured moving it upwards would look better then fabbing a longer mount, i assume you had to oblong the hole in the firewall also?

It wasn't necessary to do that because I only needed a slight amount of movement to clear the linkage. I wouldn't think it would be necessary for you to do that either, but I suppose it depends on how much interference you currently have. Have you mocked the linkage for the new booster up to you pedal yet?
