New kid on the block, 72 Sierra Grande.

Hey guys! New kid here, I just got this 72 GMC for my birthday the other day. I've been lookin on local craigslist for quite a few months now, trying to find that "right" truck. I knew I wanted a 67-72, didn't really care as long as it was in those years. Well, I had a 77 (still do), so that was a minor set back as far as $$$. Well, finally came across this truck, the owner wanted 2200, and the pictures on the ad made the truck look pristine. My dad went an looked at it with his buddy who knows a lot more than either of us, and he came home tellin me it wasn't that great, had a few problems, paint was rattle canned, blah blah blah. I was pretty bummed, I'd thought this was the one. Little be-knownst to me, he'd bought it. Sure did surprise me Saturday when we got to dinner and this beautiful 72 was sittin there. The paint is in fact rattle canned, but won't be for to long hopefully. They at least did a good job. Supposedly just over 100k original miles! 350 small block, starts right up an sounds terrific! Runs real well, has power steering/power disc brakes. Barely any rust issues. There's some surface rust in the bed, but it's not bad at all.

Currently, i'm cleaning the gauge cluster up,re painting the needles, and touchin up the colors. And we're replacing u joints/ carriage bearing. and possibly the drive line. (more than likely). It's a great start to a project truck.

So far it seems to be! I'm pretty excited to drive/build it the way I want.
The body's just about perfectly straight as well!
