Jet Coat Pictures (Before and After)
My Mechanic cut and re-welded my Headers, for "Tucking my Exhaust" up into my Frame.
Mocked up, and then cut/Re-Welded the Headers and sent them off for Jet Coating. Heres a Before/After Pic. (Sorry the After is with a Cell Phone Camera), but you get my drift. The complete thread can be seen here at: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=463974

Then they need to look at the Relays on the AC, because I'm not getting my highest Blower speed. Keepin my Fingers crossed, but I need to remember that "The Shop" has had my Truck 135 Days out of the last 150, due to the Interior Restoration, and now the Exhaust. Next Project..... "Thumper Cam"!!!

Re: Jet Coat Pictures (Before and After)
Looks great, definitely an interesting set of headers!
I'm curious as to how long the coating will hold up with the repeated heat cycles and high temps of the exhaust. Hopefully it would hold up for a few years of daily driving at least? |

Actually the Shop that's doing the work, has shown me 3 other Customers Cars with Jet Coated Headers. They were ranging from 6K miles to 40K miles and I couldn't tell the difference between the two. The thing is, these will be the cleanest part underneath my Hood. I'm concentrating on the Interior/Exterior of THIS Truck and the "Under Hood" will be the last to be gone through.

Re: Jet Coat Pictures (Before and After)
i've had a few sets coated by jet coat// they held up great for many years on daily driver abused and worked hard vehicles// they do lose a bit of the shine over the years to a duller satin type look but no rust no peeling or blistering issues even with the salty roads in the northeast winters

Re: Jet Coat Pictures (Before and After)
A friend of mine put a set of Jet Hot coated Hookers on his 98 Z28 back in 03. They had been used for a couple years already when he got them. He sold the car to another friend and they still look just as good as they did when he first put them on. They had already lost that nice shine, into more of a silver satin finish, but there is no rust or flaking.

Re: Jet Coat Pictures (Before and After)
Well here's 2 pictures of the Jet Coated Headers, on the Engine.
The Exhaust and Cut-Outs are in, but the Cut-Outs arent wired up yet. Engine bay is Dirty, (as I've said before), I'm not paying THAT much attention to it ...........yet. All my effort is going into the Body Work and Interior. It doesnt help though to live in the Desert and have Sand all over your Truck.

Re: Jet Coat Pictures (Before and After)
You gotta remember I'm the one taking the pictures but unfortunatly, it's tough to get around with THIS (Picture Attached).
I do what I can, in small Doses. RATIKLE is still in the shop, but I will have them put it up on the Rack and at LEAST take somes pics, (if not Video) too. Just havent been feeling up to Par lately.

Re: Jet Coat Pictures (Before and After)
Well the Good News is I was able to get to the Shop and take some pics of the underside of the "Exhaust Tuck".
Bad news is that I can't upload them yet, until I get my new Puter Hooked up. My old PC with all my Website Truck info, gave up the Ghost last July, so I've been running a "used PC", barely good for email/Web Surfing. So for an early Fathers Day Present, my Wife bought me an HP 6719c Desktop Computer to go along with my 27" Samsung TV/Monitor Combo. Had all the old files from BOTH old PC's, transfered over to the new one. Now I just need to rearrange my Computer Desk, which is a hassel, when your trying to recover from Foot Surgery w/ 4 Broken Bones/Plates & Screws. I will post pics just ASAP.
