Re: Anyone using this Summit Steering Column?
What did you have to do to make this work with your lower steering shaft. Did you just cut the old joint off the shaft and replace it with a new joint?

Re: Anyone using this Summit Steering Column?
RPC Columns: I use to sell them and ended up selling all of them at and below cost everyone had something wrong right out of the box or give them a week or two and the tilt will quit working! Nuff said!!

Re: Anyone using the RPC Steering Column?
I've just installed the RPC steering column in a 77 short wide that we are finishing a frame up restro. We had to shim the mounts, but it is in and looks good. Anyone that needs to ask questions and either post it here or send me an email. verdier@centurytel.net
Have a wonderful day |

Re: Anyone using this Summit Steering Column?
Driven it yet? I suspect not, but I'm really curious how it feels "in the real world" THe price is really tough to beat. No way I am paying for flaming river or idiit. It is this, or Kev's classics rebuilt column for me. I like the idea of a relatively easy to install new unit that is brushed/polished.

Re: Anyone using this Summit Steering Column?
People make it sound like folks are dying left and right usin one of these columns, lol. If you are that concerned by it and still want to save money, use a van tilt. They are OEM GM, easy to modify, and very cost effective.

Received the summit column today. Sure looks Chinese.?!?! Post pics later. Guess I'll use it while I send in the '72 van tilt to get rebuilt.

Re: Anyone using this Summit Steering Column?
I just ordered this same column. Do you have any pictures under the hood? Preferably showing the mate up to the existing rod?
