Re: Jimbo's 67 Long bed step side build

Ok back to work on the interior, again I will give as much detail as I can.

Half of the velcro strips have been attached to the inside roof of cab.

Re: Jimbo's 67 Long bed step side build

Here I'm smoothing out the edges after I glued the leather to the panel. This was done the same as the kick panel earlier, always glue half smooth out, then come back and do the other half.

Installed their velcro pieces as per instruction, but I also installed double back tape for added holding of headliner to roof.

Re: Jimbo's 67 Long bed step side build

Door panel put in place, to check fit, etc. Here you can see where I got the two designs for floor and console side panels. The lauan pieces attached to black panel will be covered in leather to make into a two tone color.

Re: Jimbo's 67 Long bed step side build

Sorry I don't have pics showing each piece being done. Didn't know one day I would post this on the internet. The outside main panel was first covered with leather. Then darker leather was attached to the spear and also the arm rest. Then the lauan panel was attached to the main panel to separate the two colors. Hope that's clear?

Better shot of panel with door open. Upper spear in dark leather matches the console spear. Lower dark piece matches the floor design.

very nice as usual... I really appreciate you taking the time to post up this build! Thanks a lot. If you don't mind me asking, who makes that dash panel/glove box door? I see the guages are by AutoMeter and I know I've seen that panel before but can't make out who it's made by.

Thank you for watching the build, I enjoyed posting it. Dash panels are by "NO LIMIT" are brushed aluminum and ran about $350 pair. Auto meter gauges are Ultra-lite series got them from Jeg's.

Yes the door panels and headliner panel are from ROD DOORS, I just changed things a little with the lauan pieces added. Seat belts are a 3 point retractable type, owner got them on E-Bay, not sure were from, sorry....Jim

Re: Jimbo's 67 Long bed step side build

Hi Jim,

It's cool that you took all those pics back then so you can share them with us now. I'm a little sad that we're almost at the end now, I became a habitual reader of your thread. You metered out the pics at a nice pace. [applause]

I really got a lot out of your use of materials and methods to create such a work of art. It's beautiful. You should be proud and I'm sure Jimbo must be a happy camper, too.

Sorry to hear about your family's health issues. We're gettin' up there, no denyin'. However, your words of encouragement to others regarding their builds was very upbeat.

Looking forward to the last few posts on Jimbo's build.

Regards,

Jim
