Mustang II IFS Crossmember question

So I was prepping the frame last night to put in my MII cross Member and noticed the bottom of the frame flares out at the front. Does it have to be trimmed so the boxing plates will fit and then the cross member goes in? the directions just say it needs to be trimmed for the rack it does not say anything about for the cross member.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Re: Mustang II IFS Crossmember question

You need to trim the frame rail so your box plates will lay flat against the rail then your crossmember will sit in there good.

Correct, I had to do the same on my frame so you can weld in the box plates correctly. It's a pretty easy job if you have a good grinder and a couple grinding wheels handy.

Re: Mustang II IFS Crossmember question

Thanks that is the only thing that made sense to me but I wanted to make sure before hacking on the frame.
