gas tank and suspention
I have a 20 gallon gas tank, in my 62 C10 step side short bed, between the frame rails, behind the rear axle and am tiered of the height of the truck changing in the rear every time I fill it up. I think it changes by at least an inch. would it help if I put the tank in the bed behind the cab. Or does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this without affecting ride quality.

Re: gas tank and suspention
Moving the tank forward would make a difference as far as affecting ride height when full and empty. It would be more stabilized since it would be more in the center of the vehicle. Not only that, but when on the tail and full it makes the truck more butt heavy and that would be extra weight swinging around on tight corners.... Get where I'm going there? More towards the center and it would have little affect when full or empty.

Re: gas tank and suspention
So if I were to bag it that would mean I would have to set up some kind of system that would slowly add air to the bags as the gas tank slowly emptied. or are the compressors set up to add air when there is more wait added.

You could go with an accuair, and I think Airride tech has one, but accuair has an auto leveler. save your pennies!!

Re: gas tank and suspention
The truck really need that weight in the rear, the biggest problem with a pickup is its lack of weight in the rear when it is not hauling anything. as to the leveling problem call me. I will find you a truck air ride valve that stays at the same height all the time. You would just have to have a air tank that has high pressure air in it, and when you fill the tank it would let more air in. As the tank empties it will lower the truck back to the correct height. Later you could add a compressor to the system which would keep the air tank topped off at a preset pressure. Kieth call me I do not sell them but I deal in over the road trucks and I could help you find the parts. 918-446-2245

not meaning to steal this thread or anything, but can you run bags with coils and shocks. my problem is that my C20 has c10 lowering sprigs and my suspension isnt the greatest. if so where would I mount these and where do I buy?
