I'm in need of a lower a-arm for a 1969 c/10. took my truck to get the front end lined up. Mechanic said when he jacked it up the ball joint fell out. I don't want to weld it in. Figured I'd replace it. New one is costly. Good used one would be just fine. If its a good one. Thanks

any thoughts about switching to disc brakes? i have a rotor to rotor crossmember

I have the complete cross member (suspension and steering) out of my 68 when I changed to a 72 front end last year. Nothing wrong with it that I know of. I would like to sell complete for $100.00 (not sure how to ship) but would seperate just the control arm for $25.00 plus shipping.

Truck has disc's on the front already. Think I'll just have it tack welded in. And pick me up a used one and have it on hand. Todd68Chevy if you don't sell yours complete and break it down sometime. I'll take that lower a-arm. Its up to you if you have the time and want to seperate the front end. Just let me know. Sooner or later I need to fix it right anyway... Thanks

Does it still have the 69 control arms or has it been changed to the newer ones since it has disc brakes? I should be able to get mine apart this weekend if your interested but if you need a disc brake front end I think this one is different. Let me know. Thanks, Todd

They probably have been changed, I had a hard time finding the right ball joint for it. I finially ended up getting them for a 73 model year and they worked. Whats the difference in them if ones a disc and the other a drum style?

I am not sure what is different but I pretty sure that 67-70 drum brakes are the same, 71-72 disc brakes are the same and 73-80 disc brakes are the same. I would say you are looking for a 73 and up control arm and 67-72 will not be the same but that is just my guess. I would post a thread in the message board and I am sure someone knows the answer.

It might be a later model LCA, but just as likely it could be a 69 LCA that they upgraded to 73 up balljoints when they did the disc brake upgrade...
