I don't know if I missed it somewhere, but I'm curious what you've done on the tail of your transmission here.
Was this originally a 4wd trans?

Yes it was a 4wd trans, and it has only 10k on it so my boss and I made a tail housing on the lathe and mill that allows for the yoke bushing, VSS, and standard 2wd mount. It's quite short but being a 2 piece drive shaft, the slip movement wasn't an issue. Rather than source another trans with the same amount of miles, or tear it all apart to convert it, we machined a couple chunks of aluminum.

That's interesting.....
So the output shaft was the correct size and spline and also tapped for a bolt on yoke? You guys did a very nice job. You know there might ba a market for something like this. In my area about 95% of the newer trucks, Burbs, Tahoe's, etc. are all 4wd. So finding a 2wd trans isn't all that easy.

It's a standard 27 spline slip yoke that I have on there, so it's not tapped its a slip, but now that you mention it you could do a tapped yoke with a slip shaft if it's a one-piece and it would work great. The shaft on the 4wd trans is significantly shorter, so It only has a possibility of maybe 1" of total slip. I had thought about the idea of making the part, but unless we could get everything CNC'd for a good deal, it would be more cost effective to just buy another trans almost haha. There's almost $300 in materials alone there.

I've been drivin it around town now. Need some more tuning but damn it's fun and it rides sooo nice!
