Will thus battery cable kit work with 2 optima batteries?

Hey guys I'm attempting to mount 2 optima batteries under the bed of my truck. I took a few measurements and I think this kit will work. I will be wiring the batteries in series with a disconnect on the secondary battery. That way I can run my stereo at the lake while truck is off without draining my primary battery.

What do u think?

So you're gonna have a total of 2 batteries for the truck, which will both be under the bed correct?

Are you sure about wiring in series? Wouldn't parallel and cut offs work?

As stated above, I would wire in parallel and install an isolator. Depending on the amount of amperage your stereo will pull at max output, I would probably use 1/0 instead of 1 gauge. It is more expensive and it is also heavier, but it carries a better current with less resistance over the distance you will be running.

Yes I will be running two batteries under the bed.

You guys are right. I got them backwards.

I will be wiring the batteries in parallel. (That's what I meant )
Wiring in series would indeed make the power 24 volts which I do not want.

I will be wiring the positive posts together and then just wire the negative posts to the frame.

I pretty much only buy from Summit Racing because I have an account with them. However I can not find the 1/0 cables I need.

I only need around 15' of positve cable and maybe only 3' of negative cable.

I found this one However the description doesn't seem to match the picture because it doesn't show the ground straps. I will also have to buy new post terminals because these are crimped on but it also show they are bare...? Maybe you get to pick...?

They feature crimped tin plated brass post terminals that are less corrosive and three times more conducive than lead. Copper ring terminals for starter and ground connections are included, along with P-clip cable mounts and shrink sleeve tubing for a professional finish.

I think that should be enough if you're just planning on running (+) to (+).

Re: Will thus battery cable kit work with 2 optima batteries?

I think it will definetly be enough for the positive cable. I'm just confused on the other stuff.

Does it have a bare wire end or a crimped terminal?
Does it come with ground wires or not?

I'm going to give thema call and see what they say.

Thanks for all your help guys!

From what I read and understood, the battery terminals are crimped on, and the extra set of terminals are there if you decide to cut the wire and use a piece for a ground. It looks like 1 giant piece of wire but it could be 2.
