Question GM rear tail panel?

I purchased some truck parts from a guy and this was part of the lot. I have no idea what it's for. Can anyone identify it? Lmk, thanks. Here's some pic's.

Looks like a dr's taillight panel for a 1974 Laguna. Your pic is upside down.

What the heck is a Laguna? Is it similar to a Malibu?

I love lagunas best front end they ever put on those cars. Chip Foose put one on a Elcamino and it was a totally different car. Sorry just was thinking out loud(and typing)

Re: GM rear tail panel?

They used them in Asscar. Not sure if the chicken or the egg came first. I'm sure it was an aero thing though.

Re: GM rear tail panel?

I used to be into it when I was a kid. Visited the local Big Boys, I was a welcome guest being th 14 y/o that could speak directly with the pros and probably had some of my ideas intergrated or at least attempted. Once I realized that they weren't "stock cars" and the only thing that changed was the rules I lost interest. We were coming into fuel injection big time and no change and so on. Now every car is a four door FWD car and now Toyota is invovled? I haven't been into them in so long I still call them Winston Cup cars, you should see the look I get from an active fan!!
