"Back in Black" interior overhaul

So started an overhaul of the interior of my '68 short bed. I put the truck together a few years ago and didn't put slot of time into the interior. I did start with a factory tach dash, radio delete, and tilt column. The carpet was new then and the inside if the cab was painted at that time. I had a broken down factory bench seat with a cheap walmart special seat cover.

So now for the upgrade,

Last year my dad (Sammy) purchased a set of buddy buckets and had them recovered. At the same time the shop that did the seat talked him into a see of full length door panels. Dad said let's put them in your truck so today it begins.

I pulled the factory seat an carpet and everything else in the way, found a rodent has been using my truck for a dinner table and failed to clean up afterwards.

I then proceeded to cover the floorboard with an aluminum backed rubberized product I found at home depot. Before you reply about it, cuz I read several posts about using it, I feel for the price in my truck it should work just fine.

After doing the floorboard, pulled we The gas tank so the carpet could go to the back of the cab incase the tank comes out later, installed carpet and set the buddy buckets in and bolted them down. Up next is the doors but ran out of time hopefully later this week I can get goin on it.

Note: "FIREDOG I ordered 2 black Shoulder Belts" Going to have to find some hardware someplace." Anyone know what bolts fit the shoulder harness on the upper cab?

The shoulder harness bolts are standard, I believe, 7/16" fine thread with a shoulder for the belt hanger to pivot on.

Many junkyard cars/trucks should have one that fits (mine came from a F**d van). They are usually a Torx head.

I see. I hate that trip to the yard in this heat and humidity. Ebay has these belts to fit our truck as 3 point for a reasonable amount considering what they usually cost plus the standard color is black. See how the quality is on these. The ones he had were mismatched with odd colors, busted and cracked. Very poor to even consider for use anyway. I'll post a link in case anyone is interested.

Re: "Back in Black" interior overhaul

If anyone happens to be in a scrap yard and can grab a couple it would be appreciated as I don't see making a 45 mi trip one way for two shoulder bolts anytime soon.

I checked Lowes today for 7/16 fine thread grade 8's. They only have standard pitch threaded grade 8's.

Re: "Back in Black" interior overhaul

Guys, the interior in Firedog's truck looks sweet! How did you like the matting you used? I want to find something affordable to try and keep the noise down in my cab. Thanks for the link to those seat belts. I may be getting a set of those.

If you hold off on your purchase we can give you a report on the quality and fit after these seat belts come in. Hard to tell from pics what your really buying. Less than $100 for a set sounds reasonable for shoulder style belts. I've seen the lap belts new run a bit more than that.
