Adding Emblems to truck (60's/70's Emblems)
As some of you know, i am trying make basically make a "Muscle Truck" out of a 1994 C1500 SWB. Its lowered 4/7, sitting on 73-87 rallys, 375HP 350 SBC, and a TH350.
Anyways, i have a set of 350 badges from my dads 1969 Camaro, he has had a BBC in there forever and is never gonna use the 350 badges. i was thinking of making them fit in the body line of the door of my truck? Thoughts?. anyone ever add any of these style badges to thier trucks? Badge: ![]() Side of truck:

I like it smooth as it is,too. If you had a cowl induction hood, engine badges on the sides would be a cool touch. Even then, with the smooth lines and being a '90s style,I'd go with a sticker made to look factory...like the 6.5 Turbo Diesel stickers.

Some trucks can pull it off, but I don't know if yours can the way it is. I like special-K's idea of having them on the sides of a cowl hood, but on the body just doesn't work for me.

Re: Adding Emblems to truck (60's/70's Emblems)
Your truck looks VERY nice as is but I understand wanting to give it a little muscle image. If you "must" I wouldn't use those emblems though. As someone stated something on on the sides of a cowl hood wouldn't look too bad. The "COWL INDUCTION" script off a Chevelle would give it a subtle and tasteful "hint" of muscle but you better have some muscle UNDER the hood if you do that. If you still have injection you might put Fuel Injection script from a newer Vette on the recess in the doors or maybe just the crossed flag emblems with no script on the fender just ahead of the door. With your color scheme either chrome or the red on black would work. They also make center cap adapters to run passenger car rally caps on the 5 bolt truck rally wheels. They're a bit pricey but they work quite nicely. I have a set I found on eBay on mine with Baby Moons for Vette rally wheels. The Police/Taxi or '67 Disc Brake centers would look good on your truck with a thin trim ring.

Found it but they don't currrently have a listing, my guess is you can find them somewhere else though. They DO work they just need some minor "alignment" when you first put them on and I replaced the stainless socket head bolts that came with them with Grade 5 plated hardware as the first one I tried to put in rounded out before I even compressed the lockwasher!

Re: Adding Emblems to truck (60's/70's Emblems)
My exact words when I saw them.
My truck is a lumpy old flat black '88 RCLB rust bucket "parts hauler" with a 4/6 drop. I painted my rally wheels light gray and added the moons and trim rings a few weeks ago and in that time I have had a LOT of comments on them. The guard at work the other night took my ID card when I rolled up and then stepped back and just kept staring at the wheels with a big grin on his face and nodding his approval. He made my night. One of the cops in the next town has a '71 with rally's and wanted something different for center caps. I told him I didn't know of anything then found these that same night. When he saw mine he about crapped and jokingly ( I think ) said I stole his idea LOL. Every time he sees me when he's on duty now he motions to the back seat like I'm going for a ride in the back for beating him to the punch. |
