motor mount question
new to forums so bear with me.
I have a 69 gmc 2500 longbed fleetside. it came with a v6/4 speed. I am putting a 400 small block in it with t350. I am a bit confused about the motor mounts. The perches have a hole about 1 1/4 inches, obviously much too large for the bolt to hold onto. I found a rubber cube with a metal plate on one side that appears to go on the underside of the perch. The bolt goes through the rubber cube, through the perch and into the rubber motor mount on top of the perch (attached to the motor). Is this correct? if so how or where do I get new rubber cubes because I only have one. The setup is similar to the manual trans mounts but larger. Let me know if I'm way off. Any help is appreciated. maybe i need new perches with small holes? Last edited by gvup4hm; 07-09-2011 at 07:56 PM. |

I'm betting you will have to get the small block V-8 towers that bolt to the frame and the motor mounts that match them. They are not hard to find. A thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=840 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=257772 Or 2... LockDoc

Yes, you are correct about those type mounts. You can get some new perches but I have also used large thick washers on the underside of the perch. a 1/4 in thick steel plate with a 1/2 hole should work just fine for you

Re: motor mount question
Old harmonic balancer bolt washers work well for that too. They're real thick and have a large O.D.
