wheel adapter 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4
so is there an adapter that will convert my 5 on 5 hub to a 5 on 4 3/4. I bought wheels thinking they were 5 on 5 universal but ended up being 5 on 4 3/4 universal.

Here ya go. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/5-x-5...item3caae0d59f
You'll probably get some people saying not to use these, but these billet adapters aren't like the cheap cast ones. These type have been used for racing applications are very strong. I have ran these on various cars and trucks for years with no issues. I'm running a set on my Miltary Blazer right to space the rear wheel track out even with front. I always use med strength loc-tite to make sure they don't come loose, but a lot of people don't even do that.

Re: wheel adapter 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4
and thanks 67 c30.... I may do this. tires are 255x60 15's rear and 235x60 15's front. I am thinking the 1.25" adapters will not stick out too far...

Re: wheel adapter 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4
If our axles will interchange, we could trade rear axles. i have a 67 with 5 X 4 3/4 on the rear and need 5 X 5. I'll have to check to see what i have and they will exchange.

Re: wheel adapter 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4
It depends on backspacing. I ran 1 1/4's on the rear of my '69 C10 with 15 X 8" 6 lug rallys to even out the wheel track, and I loved the look of it. I was running 255/60's on the front and 275/60's in the rear.

Have you priced the adapters? They're going to cost about as much as you have in your wheels. Sell them and try again.

Re: wheel adapter 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4
I really like the wheels and tires. After all they are brand new never used. I think the adapter and the spacer width of them will look pretty good. I will try the adapters and see.

Re: wheel adapter 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4
Nice! Do you have disc's in the front? I only ask because it might be worth to look into getting some thicker ones for the rear to even out the track width like 67_C-30 did. That's if the wheel's backspacing allows it. Just something to think about.

Re: wheel adapter 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4
I got disc in front. I went with adapters that are 1" thick in front and 1.25" I had to ordered mag lug nuts today. So I will not get a chance to install until Thursday. But yes I hope the back spacing and the thickness of the adapters will set it out pretty good and look like I hope it looks...

Re: wheel adapter 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4
Someone mentioned swapping axles....60-69 are same length. Length changed for 70 (slightly longer). 71-72's are same length as '70, but 5 lug vs 6-lug.
Just in case someone was wondering.
