spark plugs question. confused
I have a 82 silverado with a 350. Has 492 heads and 9.5-1 compression. I swapped plugs. Went from r45ts to r43ts because of advice from a mechanic. Problem is now my idle rpms are lower and there is power loss. Do you have to advance timing with a cooler plug? Should I switch back to the hotter plug? Thanks in advance.

Re: spark plugs question. confused
More compression = LESS gap. Less gap is needed to overcome higher compression pressure resistance. Have you tried using a different gap? What type of ignition do you have on it?

Hei distributor. Gap is .35. Guess I should have set it at .45?
