Manual to Auto transmission crossmember ?
I am in the process of gathering info for my tranny swap from a manual to a 700r4 and I am wondering if the cross member is different or does it need to be rolocated with different mount on the cross member. Please let me know thanks.

Re: Manual to Auto transmission crossmember ?
I'm doing searches here for the same project.....
I found one thread (so far) that says you have to remove the manual crossmember, which makes sense. Looking at my 68' (w/ 3 on the tree) it has two side mounts to the manual's case, whereas the 700 has a single mount on the tailshaft. I'm looking at a CPP tubular mount right now.... Others will likely suggest different options |

Re: Manual to Auto transmission crossmember ?
Yeah, the 700 is longer than a 350/400 - but it's only two holes per side to drill (at most).
The 700/350/400 use the same rear mount. Check out Energy Suspension: http://www.jegs.com/i/Energy+Suspens...1108G/10002/-1 |
