question about cargo light on back cab

i wonder can i replace cargo light to 3 rd brake ? but i notice there is hole of cargo and 3 rd beake is differnt size what ur recommed what i should go ahead drill new hole or what ? sorry add one more i have 1990 chevy cab

I'd leave it alone. but i suppose you could wire in a third brake light. dont drill a new hole use the existing one to run wires through and mount up your light. I'm not sure how third brake lights mount though.

Yea its possible but not going to be exactly easy. You should leave the existing hole and then you will have to get power to it from your other brake lights to make it work correctly. I would just leave it unless you really want to change it out.

would it have to be both lights? or could it be wired tojust one? just curious. i scares me to deat cutting a hole in my cab. (i didn't get a original cargo light.)

We rewired my cargo light to be a 3rd brake light. It was rather simple actually! We replaced the bulbs inside with LED's so they were nice and bright. Don't think the project took too much time either
