Changing the oil in the differential. I believe I have a stock setup with 3:73 gears. Looking to know if anyone knows the capacity and should I use a synthetic or not?

It will take 4 pints. I dont use synthetic. I dont think its worth the extra money. A GL-5 rated gear lube is all you need.

synthetic is far superior and well worth the money i run synthetic in engine tranny rearend and wheel bearings // it makes a true positive increase in gas milage and these trucks need as much help as possible when it comes to gettin better milage

I thought that if somebody switched to Synthetic after already using fossil based oil that it causes leaks by softtening the seals or something. Is that true?
