I decided to take on the task after a couple months of pondering. I've almost finished swapping from a 4.3l tbi to a 5.7l tbi. All i really have to say about this is patience..... I can answer alotta question you might have, right now I have a few questions. The clutch is back in and the pedal is stiff? Also is an oil cooler really need?

In Bogota, Columbia? Maybe. In British Columbia? Probably not. Milions of SBC's have gone trillions of miles in far hotter locales than your's without oil coolers.
