I noticed a few selling for that...then watched one and forgot to bid and it sold for 19.99

There's another that's at that price right now I'm planning to bid on at the last second

Thats crazy!! Expecially when you consider that that clear lens is not correct for a 1967-72. It should be a yellow tent.

$20 is a good price as long as it's NOS. WES said the repops are not very good in quality as they don't last. The four I bought cost about $20-30 @. Good Luck

Yep...the one that sold for 19.99 was a correct one. Funny how that happens sometimes

My lite is NOS and it doesn't have a yellow tint. Thes are for the rear plate so I think clear would be more correct. I could be wrong.

Looks like 917069 replaced 911318 which was the earlier part # so thus the "true" NOS

When I put it on the back wind it worked perfect, but wasn't much use there

I think this mounts where the mirror mounts. It uses a single screw. It's interesting to hear that your compass would not function properly. Not sure why. I didn't the engine would intefere with the operation of the compass ... Why yours did not work I don't know but I'll let others reply

Re: Lets see your rare NOS Parts...

I bought this bumper from a guy who said he bought 20 fronts and 20 rears 23 years ago from a chevy dealership.

He has 3 rears left and now he has two.

Re: Lets see your rare NOS Parts...

NOS parts are getting harder to find older vehicles, especially truck parts. And if you do find them, get ready to dig deep in your pocket!

Does anyone have the correct sparkplug heat shields for a 1972 350--or can you point me in the right direction? Aftermarket ones look different from the originals and it's driving me crazy!

maybe, but , this is why my trucks tailgate will not be factory
because n.o.s. people see as gold, and sorry it's stamped steel..
and as much as I'll hate replacing mine if It can't be fixed, with an offshore part. I refuse to pay a kings ransom for sheetmetal , if it was a vehicle that the part wasn't aval. I'd have no choice, but with these trucks and the fact it might get used, n.o.s. is to costly for a driver,

So true. I've paid a preminum for parts that are hard to find, but I don't think I could ever spend $800 for a NOS tailgate when a repo can be had for around $200.

Sometimes you get what you pay for. We had a customer that ended up buying 2 really nice used tailgates form us (not NOS $800 ones but $4-500 gates). One was for his and the other for his wife's truck.

He had already bought a aftermarket gate and had the body work done and had it painted for his truck. He said the first time he shut it good it put two dents in it from his hands. Thats when he bought our original gates.

There may be some good repos out there but I bet this guy had more money in the cheap gate when the paint\work was done.

Re: Lets see your rare NOS Parts...

just my two cents...NOS is great, especially for a true restoration, when you can find the part...i sure don't have any right to tell another man where to spend his money...

But, i will say this, counterfeit has invaded every corner of Americana...from Nike, to Coka Cola signs, to just about everything...and even our beloved hobby... with todays technology, GM labels are very easy to reproduce...age...and sell as NOS.

I put a ziplock bag in my glovebox, with my insurance, registra...etc. 7 months later, i got into it, and it was dry, brittle, and falling apart. even the documents looked old. I was astonished, WTF??? and i wasn't even trying!

buyer beware.
