Re: 1951 Suburban a 4 year project....
man, i wish i would have seen this build before i did mine. you have alot of good ideas. what is that black setup that connection from the frame to the upper control arm? does it just limit the air bag from over inflating? what did you do in the front to stop the crossmember from hitting the ground when you deflate the air bags.

The real story is i had it for almost 4 years but the build in real time was a little over 2 years.. We worked on at least 4 other car and trucks while working on the Burb... Maybe i'll post some of those pictures Here's a few just for you... |

As for the crossmember hitting the ground the kit comes with a bumb stop you weld on and this stops the x-member from hitting.. I just lowered it down to where i wanted it to stop and that's where i put the stop.. Hope this helps... |

Re: 1951 Suburban a 4 year project....
With the Grand National Roadster Show just over 3 months away we got the suburban back from paint. The only thing done was the body was bolted down to the frame and the some wheels were on it... only thing left to do was everything...... no big deal.. ha

Re: 1951 Suburban a 4 year project....
The head liner had to go in before the glass, wood was screwed to the top bows and tin was used to round the corners and then foam was glued and sanded to make smooth and nice shape.. then the head liner was glued to all that. one big piece... came out very nice and smooth..

Re: 1951 Suburban a 4 year project....
The motor is a ZZ4 350 and the trans is a 700R4..
The motor was torn down and rebuilt with better rods and pistons and a little hotter cam.. sounds great. |

Wayne
Nice pics....I should have made it easy on myself and just had you come to MI and finish putting my truck together for me.......We would have called it a "vacation" so I would not have to pay your west coast hourly rate.....JK You must have a ton of pics because some of these I have not seen before and I know that you have sent me quite a few. I saw a small pic on pg 101 of the newest Streetrucks mag. They were covering the GNRS. Marc
