Did some sanding and polishing. Unfortunately, since I painted the hood separate and it is so huge, my technique was a little different and it cam out a little less blue and metallic than the rest of the car. Really have to see it in person to tell, and then you have to look for it. On the bright side, my fiance decided what to name the car and It got some experimental lettering added to the driver's fender where it used to say "Riviera by Buick", and the color sanding an polishing is really making it look good.

Thanks, I definitely know what you mean, unfortunately there are just too many cars that I want ('70 Impala included) so I will have to stick with what I have....

Years ago, my friend had a 70 2door Caprice with a 400, it was his first car, it was a pretty nice car and now he wishes he still had it.

Thanks, It came from southern California, so ZERO rust. Unfortunately, it had a run in with a stupid 16 year old girl at an intersection.

The first pic is what it looked like originally, and the rest are some of the rebuild process.

Decided to paint the hood again, couldn't stand that it didn't match. I got some tips from the painter at work and had a much better experience than before... also have the drivers side pretty much sanded an polished, I still have a few sand scratches to buff out, but overall, lookign pretty good.

I Hope to get most of the sanding and polishing on the passenger side done this weekend, Then I have a few mechanical issues to fix, then it will be roadworthy again. I am trying to decide which way to go with fuel. The 670 Holley is too small and to lean for the 455. I want to run a FAST EZefi, or a powerjection system like I have on my caprice, but $1500 to $2000 is a bit much to spend right now... especially since the car still needs $1500 of interior and weatherstripping.

So, after not being satisfied with the metallic pattern, having sanded through the clear and multiple attempts to repaint, blend, polish and generally fix the paint, as well as some minor waves in the bodywork, I came to hate the car. I spent the last couple months deciding what to do with it, so on the holiday break from work, I took the sanding block to it and mowed down a bunch of paint , and improved some bodywork in an effort to make the car straighter and start preparing it for jet black. The problem is the car can't be named the Blue Streak if it isn't blue right? Now the search is on for a new name. In the months of soul searching, I thought that the car being a "Landyacht" and "Boattail" needed a nautical name, and I compiled a list of tentative names but haven't decided on one. I am looking for some help, so here is the list:

Over Board
Ship Happens
Sea Duced
Seaducer
Knot Satisfied
Deep Obsession
Boatzilla
Sea Sickness
Knot Enough
Ray-Sea
Rip Tide
Yachta Work
Feelin Nauti

At this point I am leaning to Knot Satisfied, since that has been the story with this car so far, but I am afraid that I may have to explain it to nearly everyone. My second and third choices are Feelin Nauti, and Yachta Work. Any Ideas or input is welcome and appreciated!

man i was just thinkin about this the other day and wonderiing what happened, now i know. i like the name Knot Satisfied gives it a nice twist
