What is the proper way to remove/install doors on these trucks since GM saw fit to weld the hinges to the door and cab. I've done it by compressing the spring and removing the hinge pins, but it's a b!?#h! Also, how are we supposed to adjust it with the latch pin having no adjustment?

I believe you are right about pulling the hinge pins to remove the door, most body shops have a tool that hooks in the latch and over the striker pin with the door open about six inches that allows you to align the latch with the pin. It is like a bar about two feet long and you just bend it up or down until they line up.
