? about napa wheel bearing seal and carb?
I bought some wheel bearing seals from napa and it looks more like an oil seal it even says oil seal on the box.I checked the part number online and it said it was the rite part!Any body else have this problem? Is brown wheel bearing grease ok i have always used the red?THere is a pin in the front of my carb that wont go up or down should i try working it with a pair of pliers?Im pointing at it with a screw driver.I would like to go with the origanal fuel line and filter for safety reasons.Who makes the best fuel line? This is a 72 chevy half ton with a 4barrel 350.I got the carb at autozone a few years ago i think it is the stock quadrajet. Thanks guys.

That is the accelerator pump rod. You should be having trouble starting it when it's cold.... Yes, it should go up and down. Looks like it is stuck down, it should be up against the lever. LockDoc

Re: ? about napa wheel bearing seal and carb?
Wheel bearing seals and the oil seal on the front of your timing cover look very similar; that's because they're made the same way, since they both seal rotating parts.
If your accelerator pump is stuck, it's probably time for a carb rebuild. You could try spraying some carb cleaner on it, but the cup is probably worn out. I'll bet it really bogs on you when you accelerate hard. |

Not WD-40, maybe some PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench. Or like truckster said try some carb cleaner on it. There is a spring inside that is supposed to push it up. LockDoc
