Re: brake line question
I got a CPP prebent brake line kit that Im gonna be installing this week assuming the weather cooperates. I can take some pics of it off the truck for you to get an idea. It didn't come with instructions but it seems fairly straight forward.

Re: brake line question
Just reread your OP. The kit I have has the two lines coming down from the MC. 2 lines that go across the crossmember, and 2 short lengths of hard line (which I can only assume go to the front discs as nothing else makes sense). In the kit are a bunch of fittings, 1 T fitting and several couplers/junctions. The T fitting has to be for the front discs (as that line splits for left and right). AFAIK the rear will come down from the MC, juntion, line across the crossmember (the one with the 90 degree bend to face the rear), juntion, and attaches to the original line.

Re: brake line question
These are from my '66 long bed. Everything is stock original. The single junction with the new line on one side is on the frame rail behind the cab, passenger side. Let me know if you need anything else.
Btw, please ignore the old shocks...I have new ones to install maybe today! |

Re: brake line question
On my 65, the flex line to the rear was on the right, as well as the brake line. I ran it down the left. The same hole in the cross member for the brake hose fitting is on the left and right, so that part was easy. I cut off the bracket on the rear end housing and moved to the same point on the left side and welded it on.
The photo above of the front brake line going across the cross member is the same as I did it, but I made it longer so it sits in the bottom of the cross member channel. I also placed a metering block and proportioning valve on the frame rail inside the left wheel well, so that is why I needed to relocate the rear brake line to the left side, to make things cleaner. Of course, I forgot to take any photos of this. I will get to it soon. If you have old flex hoses, replace them. They break down over time and collapse or split. I had one completely clogged one time and it almost stumped me. |
