Re: What Would You Build?
I voted big motor, smoking tires.
My dream truck would probably be a 67' C10 S/B Fleetside, probably red or dark metallic blue, tubbed/narrowed rear for huge rubber and Duramax/Allison powered... Pretty much what the white PPE truck is based on. Looks fairly stock on the outside, but mean as heck when you stomp on it!!

Re: What Would You Build?
Id have to go show truck. But no darn trailer queen. What's the point in building it if u can't enjoy it. With something that's gonna throw ya in the seat when u stomp into it

Re: What Would You Build?
Mine is in the process of a frame off restomod daily driver .Its a 72 short fleetside that will be painted similar to its original medium red ,Buddybuckets in place of the original bench ,original column shift 350 trans and a mild 350 instead of its long gone 6 cylinder .It will have full rubber mat instead of the original carpet ,radio delete instead of the long gone AM pushbutton radio ,8" Ralley wheels with new caps and bands and a cowl hood instead of the original flat hood ,an electric antenna in the front right stake pocket and hidden radio in the Buddybucket storage box .New grill shell and inner grill and new emblels and new sliding back window .All Im waiting on is the bodyshop to GETERDONE .The new tires are mounted on the freshly painted ralleys ,the Buddybucket seat is in the upholstery shop being recovered ,there are truck parts scattered in our living room ,in my shop ,and in my upstairs storage and at the bodyshop.

slammed, wheels, custom chassis and suspension, big brakes, 450hp+ls based, 5 speed, subtle body mods (60s gm car parts script badges, door handles, mirrors, steering wheel, seats) shaved drip rail, windshield leaned back. Gotta be black w white houndstooth interior. Has to be a 67 or 68.

Re: What Would You Build?
I wanted to vote #3, #4, & #5 but could'nt. Kind of like the black truck, but with fabbed Hi 9's, linked suspension W/ coilovers, 502, 4l80E, ect. I would like to be able to pull into any show and look respectable, but be able to take it hunting, or hit some dunes with it. When I finish mine, it will slooowlly metamorphasize into what I described. Right now I just want to drive it!

you didn't list mine, so I picked as good as any new truck as a daily..
I'd build a lsIII with s/c, auto (sticks suck in traffic) with paddle shift. nascar road course underpinning, long box ,flush box cover and a nice sound system, a/c,power locks(only because it be easier for aint theft system, 4wd brakes and 1979 hurst olds wheels but in a bigger size than the 14 by 7 , |

Re: What Would You Build?
This.
It would take the right truck to do the all out restoration on - the proverbial unicorn. Right now I'm doing the resto mod thing and a survivoration: two different trucks. Dukkie, I like the way you think.

Re: What Would You Build?
My dream is ALMOST finished - the finished wood was picked up today and the bed will be assembled tomorrow. ( the last BIG thing to do ) Some "little stuff" and it will finally be HOME. I had it built exactly the way I would have back in 1970 . . . and just a few more things added to make it C O O L !!!

Re: What Would You Build?
I voted all original. All the other trucks look good and are cool, but some of those things are fads that come and go, others are meant more for the track than daily driver, etc. An original will always be wow'ed over by most anyone.

Re: What Would You Build?
So True, Take any car show or auction, While the custom is cool to the eye of the creator many are turned away as they would have done XX and YY different but the original is the pinacle loved by all. hell were all here on 67-72 chevytrucks .com because everyone here loves the original right?
