Blazer and step notch
Since there is no interest in buying my blazer I was thinking of keeping and putting a porterbuilt crossmember in it and step notching the rear frame.
Only problem is I want to maintain the factory rear seat location. Has anyone done this and if you have pictures and suggestions would help. Oh yea, this would be for a 4x4 frame that doesn't pinch in the rear. Thanks Last edited by Rochlow; 08-05-2011 at 11:28 AM. |

I would LOVE to do the same, and have looked into it a lot. I don't have the $ for it, so I didn't bother Nate @ Porterbuilt about it, but I know he can work out something because someone else I know has asked.
The coolest one I've seen is Gringoloco's How to ruin a perfectly good blazer thread. It's a 4x4 frame with the TA's put in and a mount off the side of the frame for the stock bag location on the TA. He cut down a regular step notch and then fab'd up mounts for the rear bench so it remained in the stock location. Unfortunatly, I lack the skills it takes for this to be done...

It's a little work, but can be done. It won't lay out on a tall tire, but I kinda like the 'hot rod' stance. Lemme know if you have any questions...
