Re: my 65 fleetside build
thanks allaboutchevelles, have you done much to yours lately havent seen any post in a while. oh yeah the color on my truck is paint code wa9260 victory red. my buddy who owns the body shop said it wont hardly fade like other reds do, still wish it had a little more orange tint though, but all in all very pleased with it.

Re: my 65 fleetside build
lol about the molasses, You can buy it at any grocery store near the pancake syrup. My uncle still sops molasses with biscuits. If you check out youtube they is a guy on there using the feed meal grade molasses sold in bulk. he is soaking whole fenders off of old 30 and 40 cars. Its slow and takes 1 to 2 weeks but its labor free, thats the best part. I ordered some por15 to try on the bottom of my floor. so soon as I fit the doors and align the rockers and get them welded I will coat the bottom of the floor.

Re: my 65 fleetside build
thanks dustin, and chad it is good to get back at it. as far as the motor goes i havent taken any pics of the 400 its sitting in the corner of my shop covered up with a moving blanket, but i will try to get some and post them asap. it wouldnt bother me to have a gearhead for a neighbor i would probably get more work done if i had some company no one else in the neighborhood works on stuff but me, so come on over lol.

Re: my 65 fleetside build
hey flip, Hood is looking good, Are you using the PPG DP-90 or may not be 90 I know they have differant colors, I normally use the black. I decided to go a differant route on the bottom of my cab. Im not happy with this por-15 thing so I went today and got some more sand and tomorrow morning im going to blast the bottom side perfect and spray the epoxy DP-90 on it.

Re: my 65 fleetside build
motor still looks better then mine, lol!! i would be happy with either one, so when you going to paint the fenders, hood and grille support or were you waiting to paint them all together? have you seen how bad the cab is since you got it apart? does it have any rust on the floorboard? if not thats good and saves we some time and money!! now all you got to do is strip the cab and epoxy it then paint and your pretty much done with the body, lol!! i'll have to try painting mine after winter atleast get it in epoxy, will be better then primer from a can!

Re: my 65 fleetside build
thanks guys for the comments. my epoxy is a sikkens brand u-tech e 350 in gray,as far as my floor is concerned not real sure as of now how solid it is, i do know i have some issues at the bottom of the kickpanel area its not real bad but there will have to be some metal replaced. i am hoping thats the extent of it but i have learned through this build to hope the best and expect the worst.
