Phirst picturs-Body Work

Just wanted to share with the rest of the community of the body work being done in prep for paint. Progressing a bit slower than I ould like but the quality is exemplary...

Owner mentioned that he would begin applying paint next week but I think he may be a bit too ambitious. In any event I hope he is right. God Bless!

He sure did. He spent all day on getting that exhaust right...the way I wanted it. It has a few more bends in it than I wanted but there was simply no other way to do it. I really like the way it turned out. Thanks.

Been there 5 weeks. bed off the truck-fenders off the bed too. Although it is taking longer than I desire, the quality is worth the extra time. Since this is a Calif truck there is no need to do a frame off. Even the rubber cab mounts look good.

I am thumbing to work and am so grateful to have such good friends!

Re: Phirst picturs-Body Work

That exhaust IS beautiful.
I wish the shop had done that to mine in the Very Beginning. With mine being Lowered, I only have 2 1/2" of clearance now.
So later this year, I'm gonna have to cough up another $600.00 to get it right.
They're going to have to re-bend the collector on the Header, and redo the pipes up into the Frame. Then send the Headers back out to be Jet Coated.
After that I'll have about 5" of Clearance.

Re: Phirst picturs-Body Work

Why is there so many bends or should i say hoop in the exhaust?I think running straight pipe woould have been better and cheaper.Just my two cents. Is there a reason for it?

2wd73blazer if you are looking for a show quality job check out Chad Martin in Saluda, SC.http://www.chadscustomdreams.com/misc.html I have known chad for about 15 years and have seen his work at a bunch of car shows and is second to none. I would put his work next to the best in the state.

Body work is being done a Riverfront Collision in Evans. They have two locations...one in town and another in Evans. The location in Evans is a brand new facility and the nicest folks too. You can find them on the web.

Work does include removal of both the front windshield and rear window as well as the side windows and strips too.

The exhaust I guess could have been done differently I guess but I really wanted it hidden well. Bending a 2.5" pipe is difficult compared to 2" but Andy at GeorgiaLina in Martinez did a pretty good job. I am pleased with the result.

WUMC in Evans is having a car show on 16 April and I will be registering the truck for the show. Would be nice to see the local guys there. There is also another in May at Ft. Gordon. I plan on doing that one too.

Re: Phirst picturs-Body Work

Yes...there certainly has been a few improvements since I last made a post to this thread. I have posted elsewhere but by looking at the pics it has been a while...

So it went from the previous pictures to:

To this:

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D550/ry%3D400/

I have since added the rear tailgate letters. Next is a rear 3.42 rear gear to really get that BB LS6 in the rpm range it should be. riverfront (Denny) really did a great job for me. I am really pleased with the way it turned out. Since you are so close I would be happy to show it for you.

Thanks all. Appreciate it. I have seen two other trucks around our area. Yesterday I saw a short fleet on Columbia Rd that was really nice.

I thought they-Riverfront-were pretty reasonable. At just $3K he removed and disassembled the bed and the glass. Denny also took it all the way down to the metal too. They did leave the front window in though. I am pleased with the result.

Do any of you local guys have a line on a gear shop? I'm looking to replace the rear gear and add limited slip.
