Van steering column

Will a 76 chevy steering column bolt into place or will I have to do some welding to install it. I,m asking because the cab is going to the body shop and the column is not in it.

I set my van column in and welded to nuts on the bottom where it mounts to the bracket. That was all I did. Maybe you can see them in one of these pictures. The space of the nuts also allow you to run your wires down the column so you can hide them.
