Re: Front coil 4inch drop help.

1 1/2" drop spindles and 1 round off the coil should equate to approx. 4" - 4 1/2" ... it's not recommended to cut more than 1 full round off the front coils.

Re: Front coil 4inch drop help.

I cut 2 coils on my 72 about 4 or 5 years ago. It'll hit the bump stops on big dips in the road.

Pretty sure Shane means 2.5" spindles & 1-coil typically yields 4.5" of drop.

I don't/wouldn't recommend cutting more than 1-coil off. The spring doesn't have enough 'rate' to support the truck @ the shorter height so you bottom out much easier. You can also run into an un-safe situation if the suspension becomes unloaded as the shorter coil can easily fall out of place (like on a big dip @ highway speeds).

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
