Re: Need info on frame swap?

no they are not the front frame horns are different and front cab mounts are in the right spot but the back cab mounts are not! rad. core support mounts are diff., if your putting a 64-66 on the 67-68 frame there is a few mods. that need to be done, you'll need the rear cab mounts off the 64 and the rad. core support mounts, you will need the frame horns from the 64 atleast back to the rad. core mounts! having more metal to trim off will help! theres alot of measuring to do to, to make sure the frame and the cab lines up!! if you wanting the 67-68 frame just for power steering then you can get a bracket for the and save alot of time!! so whats the reason you want to use the 67-68 frame??

Re: Need info on frame swap?

building a 68, but have a 66 parts truck that already has disc brake conversion/ 5 lug rear. Was hoping to just change bodies, but will if this is the case will probably buy disc brake kit or do a crossmember swap. Are the rear-ends the same width? Thanks!!!

Re: Need info on frame swap?

The rear ends are the same width if each is the original rear end. With these trucks being 'aged', it's always possible one of the rears could possibly have been swapped @ some point.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
