a while back I posted this pic with the Flintstone Flyers coe/panel in the background....found some other pics of it....

The Nose of that thing makes it look burly !!

That was Dave Koffel's tow hauler. The Flintstone Flyer team was a force to be reckoned with back in the '60s during the Gasser era. He had an early '60s Studebaker that was a very competitive car. Koffel worked for Chrysler, I believe, and had full access to some killer factory parts.

The car in the foreground belongs to "Fast Eddie" Schartman, one of the top dogs back in the day. He raced for Ford's factory effort for years. The black Mercury was one of the first Funny cars with a fiberglass lift-off body. Dyno Don Nicholson had one as well, and I think that both of them were "Cammer" powered. They were very innovative cars and set the standard of what Funny Cars would eventually become.

The Golden Age of racing!!!! I'm a huge fan of '60s and '70s drag racing, so thanks for posting those pics.

I have to say....that is a great concept that I haven't seen yet.
I'd love to see that with a long-bodied panel (with windows added) on a 60 or 65 series chassis.....with all the goodies including a front drive axle.
Any of you photochoppers able to do a mock-up...?

too bad I am so far away, I know where 2 or 3 of those snubnose gmc's are...got a sub laying around too!!
