Changing the tailgate straps to cables

For those of you that have done it,

any Regrets?

Can you post pictures of the back with the tailgate close just in case you can see the cables?

Pictures with the tailgate opened?

I searched and saw some picts but never really read anyones opinion once completed..

Thanks in advance!!!!!

I have everything ready to change mine tonight but I am having second thoughts based on some of the members opinions....

Re: Changing the tailgate straps to cables

I would be afraid to change to cables for fear they would break. In this area breakage is fairly common and a lot of the junk yards will not sell used ones, (they keep new cables on hand).

Re: Changing the tailgate straps to cables

thanks for your feedback Jim....I decided to return the cables and forget about it. I have several other upgrades right now with the truck so it will keep me busy for a few days as time permits.

Re: Changing the tailgate straps to cables

Straps are better. I see no reason to go to cables. GM did to save money,I figure.
